Links LNE6412: A Silent, Industrial-Minded Mini PC With Room to Grow
Links International has introduced the Links LNE6412, a fanless mini PC built around Intel’s Celeron J6412 and aimed at industrial and enterprise workloads rather than mainstream desktop duty. The Tokyo-based hardware brand positions the machine for tasks such as media playback, office work, point-of-sale terminals, and digital signage.
What the Celeron J6412 Delivers

The processor is a quad-core Elkhart Lake part running at 2.0 GHz base and 2.6 GHz boost with a 10 W thermal design power. A Geekbench 6 score of roughly 1,200 points places it firmly in modest territory, a description the source author, Sambit Saha, applies to the CPU. That ceiling matters for buyers who expect desktop-class responsiveness; it is better suited to steady, lightweight tasks than to demanding computation.
The low TDP is central to the design. Passive cooling relies on the chassis to dissipate heat, which allows silent operation with no fan noise. Saha notes that the fanless approach fits the 10 W power envelope and that a silent system is a welcome trait in this category.
Memory, Storage, and Expansion
Links ships the LNE6412 with 8 GB of DDR4 memory, upgradable to 32 GB. Storage starts at 128 GB, and an M.2 2280 slot provides a path for expansion. Those defaults are modest, but the upgrade ceiling gives the machine a longer useful life than its base configuration suggests.
Ports and Physical Design
Connectivity is unusually broad for a small fanless box. The LNE6412 provides four USB 3.0 Type-A ports and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, along with two 1G Ethernet jacks, two HDMI outputs capable of 4K at 60 Hz, one VGA port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The dual HDMI and VGA combination should appeal to signage and POS deployments that need multiple displays.
The chassis measures 129 x 157 x 40 mm and supports VESA mounting, so it can be tucked behind a monitor or attached to a fixture. Its design resembles other N6412-based mini PCs, and one similar model swaps an HDMI output for two COM ports, a reminder that this segment often trades features around the same foundation.
Price, OS, and Availability
The base price is ¥98,000, roughly $620, and that variant ships without a pre-installed operating system. Global availability is not confirmed, and Saha suggests that overseas buyers may need to import the unit. Official international pricing, warranty terms outside Japan, and the full list of configurations remain unclear.
A Stronger Alternative
For users who need more CPU power, Saha points to the MeLE Cyber X1, which is cited at $494 on Amazon. The LNE6412’s appeal rests instead on its silent passive cooling, extensive port selection, and memory expansion up to 32 GB. Buyers weighing it against other fanless mini PCs should treat the Celeron J6412 as the deciding factor: adequate for kiosks, signage, and office tasks, but not a performance machine.
