City’s Ipswich Programme Puts Fans on the Cover and Bananas Back in Focus
The Manchester City Ipswich programme for Saturday’s Premier League fixture at the Etihad Stadium leads with the people in the stands rather than the players on the pitch. A supporter photograph fills the cover, chosen to reflect the renewed popularity of inflatable bananas among City fans. Kick-off is at 15:00 UK time.
From the terraces to the front page

The banana theme does not stop at the cover. Inside, a feature revisits the original craze and includes an interview with former striker Imre Varadi, whose connection to that first wave of inflatable fruit makes him a natural voice for the story.
Anderson on settling in
Midfielder Elliot Anderson, who joined City in the summer, gives his first extended programme interview. He reflects on his opening months at the club and on the reshaped midfield he has entered.
The Ipswich profile and a film-set anecdote
The opposition section profiles Ipswich Town and reaches back to a curious moment in the club’s history: former Ipswich players visiting the set of Escape to Victory alongside Mike Summerbee.
Columns, history and photography
Enzo Maresca provides his pre-match message to supporters. Buzzer contributes his regular column, and the In The City section carries the latest news and fan messages. Club historian Dr Gary James continues his seasonal highlights series, Five, 15, 50, while The King of the Kippax feature returns. Photographer Kevin Cummins presents The Hundred, a selection of his favourite pictures.
The programme also rounds up updates from the EDS, the Under-18s and the Women’s team.
Price and availability
The programme costs £4 and is sold at the ground. Supporters not attending can order it online, and subscriptions are available, including for overseas fans.
Champions League ticketing notice
A separate promotion in the programme advertises City’s Champions League match against AEK Athens on Tuesday 20 October at 20:00 UK time. Adult tickets start at £35, with Under-18 prices from £20 and hospitality from £90. A 20% hospitality discount applies to bookings of two eligible home Champions League fixtures.
