Swansea lead the table after four straight wins, the latest a last-gasp victory over Millwall on Tuesday. Vitor Matos’s side have conceded just seven goals and are unbeaten at home, where they have let in only twice in five games. The Welsh club, promoted 16 years ago, are seeking a return to the top flight.

West Ham sit third, four points behind Swansea, despite scoring 29 goals in 10 games—the most in the top four tiers. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men beat nine-man Lincoln 6-0 on Wednesday and are unbeaten away in the league, though they have trailed in eight of 13 games in all competitions. The match kicks off at 15:00 BST at Swansea’s SA1 ground.

Birmingham and QPR keep pace

Birmingham City are fourth after a 4-0 win over Preston on Tuesday. Chris Davies’s side drew their first four home games but are now unbeaten in four, taking 10 points. They could lead the West Midlands clubs.

QPR are fifth, level on points with Birmingham but behind on goals scored. Julien Stephan’s team beat Derby 4-1 on Wednesday to end a run of four draws and are unbeaten in five league away games, conceding four goals. The London club, last promoted in 2014, will look to maintain their push. Birmingham’s last Premier League promotion came in 2009.

Leicester City are 17th, just a point above the drop zone, and host Doncaster Rovers on Saturday. Russell Martin’s side lost 3-1 at home to Peterborough last Saturday—their third defeat in four home league games, conceding nine goals in the process. Their away form is unbeaten, earning six of nine points on the road.

Doncaster arrive in form, having won their past three games in all competitions without conceding. Grant McCann’s men will test a Leicester side whose manager said there would be no quick fix after fan chants. Midfielder John Lundstram said the team plays with anxiety at home. Kick-off at the King Power Stadium is 15:00 BST.

League One: Plymouth and Huddersfield in focus

Plymouth Argyle lead League One after a late win over AFC Wimbledon last weekend, though they have played one more game than some rivals. They host Huddersfield Town on Saturday, with Huddersfield three points off the summit after conceding a 98th-minute equaliser at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

Bradford City are second and host Stevenage, while Stockport County are third, Cambridge United fifth and Reading sixth. Just four points separate the top seven, and four teams could top the table by Saturday evening.

League Two: Salford seek to hold off chasing pack

Salford City lead League Two and host bottom club Crawley Town on Saturday. The top 14 are separated by just seven points, with Salford and 20th-placed Rotherham United nine points apart after 10 games. Salford beat Crawley 4-3 last November after trailing 3-2, and drew 0-0 at Crawley on the final day, missing automatic promotion before losing the play-off final to Notts County.

Barnet are second, unbeaten with games in hand, and travel to Tranmere Rovers. Crewe Alexandra are third, also unbeaten, and host Rochdale. Gillingham are fourth and travel to Accrington Stanley.
