Aorus Master 16 Gen 2 Lands in the US: RTX 5080 at $3,399, RTX 5090 at $4,799

Gigabyte’s Aorus Master 16 Gen 2 has reached the United States in both of its graphics configurations, ending a stretch in which buyers could see the machine but not its price. The 16-inch gaming laptop pairs AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX3D with either an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 or an RTX 5090 laptop GPU, and the two versions sit $1,400 apart.

What each version costs

The RTX 5080 model is listed at $3,399 and carries a 1 TB SSD. Stepping up to the RTX 5090 raises the price to $4,799 and doubles storage to 2 TB. The RTX 5090 version therefore costs more than 40 percent extra, a premium that buys a GPU the source estimates is roughly 19 percent faster in benchmarks.

Both figures come from Amazon US listings, which the source cites for pricing and availability. The same listings confirm that the two GPU options have now made it to the US market.

Shared hardware across both SKUs

Gigabyte has kept the rest of the specification identical between the two models. Each uses the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, making this Gigabyte’s first gaming laptop built around that AMD chip. Memory is 32 GB and can be upgraded by the user. The screen is a 16-inch OLED panel running at 240 Hz, and the battery has a 99 Wh capacity.

Those shared parts mean the buying decision comes down almost entirely to graphics power, storage and price.

Battery life and performance notes

In testing, the RTX 5080 configuration lasted just over five hours on a Wi-Fi battery run. No equivalent figure has been reported for the RTX 5090 model.

The cheaper configuration also held up better than its position in the stack might suggest. The source reports that the RTX 5080 version outperformed some laptops equipped with an RTX 5090 in its tests, which complicates the assumption that the pricier GPU always delivers the better result.

Exact benchmark scores for the RTX 5090 model remain unpublished, so the 19 percent estimate is the clearest comparison available for now.

From Computex to store shelves

The Aorus Master 16 Gen 2 was first tried at Computex 2026 in May. A review followed in August, conducted with the RTX 5080 model, at a point when Gigabyte had not yet confirmed pricing or availability. That gap has now closed for US buyers, with both configurations listed.
