Apple Sets Siri AI Rollout for HomeView, Apple TV, and HomePod

Apple has now clarified how Siri AI will reach the home, ending weeks of uncertainty about Siri AI Apple home devices. The company confirmed which products will support the assistant at launch, which will receive it through a later software update, and which will be left out entirely.

What gets Siri AI on day one

HomeView will support Siri AI from the start when it launches on November 13. The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K joins it on the same day. Both arrive with Siri AI in beta.

One notable difference separates HomeView from the rest of the lineup: it does not require an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad for Siri AI. That exception applies to personal context requests, which still depend on an Apple Intelligence device.

Apple TV models waiting on tvOS 27.2

Owners of the third-generation and second-generation Apple TV 4K will not get Siri AI on November 13. Those models receive support through tvOS 27.2. Apple has not tied that release to a specific calendar date.

HomePod mini 2 ships first, Siri AI comes later

The HomePod mini 2 begins shipping on October 30, but Siri AI will not be available on it at that point. Apple says the feature will arrive in a future software update. The exact timing of that update remains unannounced.

Apple also corrected an earlier report. CNET had stated that the original HomePod mini would support Siri AI. Apple confirmed it does not.

Devices left without support

Several older products will not run Siri AI at all. The original HomePod mini is excluded, as is the original HomePod. The first-generation Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD also lack support, since neither runs tvOS 27.

HomePod 2 remains unclear

Support for the HomePod 2 is still unconfirmed. The product appears in website metadata, suggesting a possible future release, but Apple has not stated whether it will handle Siri AI.

What the home owner needs

For most home devices, Siri AI requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad belonging to the home owner. The owner must also run the latest software version, turn Siri AI on, and set it to a supported language.

Other household members do not need an Apple Intelligence device once Siri AI is active. Personal requests are the exception to that rule.

Language and regional limits

At launch, Siri AI works only in English on HomeView, Apple TV 4K, and HomePod mini 2. Availability is limited to the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.

The European Union is excluded across the board. Siri AI is not available there on iPhone, iPad, or home devices, and HomeView will not launch in the EU.

Siri AI remains a beta feature on HomeView, Apple TV 4K, and HomePod mini 2. Apple has not said when it will shed that label.
