The DP World India Championship in New Delhi will require an extra morning after fading light forced the suspension of the second round on Friday, leaving a crowded leaderboard and several prominent players with holes still to complete. Four men sit tied at eight under par, but only some of them have finished their rounds.

Who Leads and Who Still Has Work to Do

Joost Luiten, Angel Hidalgo and Adrian Meronk all completed their second rounds at eight under, while Thomas Detry reached the same score through seven holes before play was halted. Detry will return on Saturday to finish his round, knowing a place in the outright lead is already secured.

Eddie Pepperell and Todd Clements are one shot behind at seven under after both finished 18 holes. Their completed work leaves them well placed to watch the remainder of the field attempt to catch them.

McIlroy’s Fast Start and the Chasing Pack

Rory McIlroy began his second round with an eagle and followed it with three pars, moving to four under par after four holes. He is tied for 17th. Tommy Fleetwood and Robert MacIntyre are also at four under after four holes, while Tom McKibbin, who started the day one shot off the lead, slipped to five under after seven holes.

Robert Jameson, like Detry and McKibbin, has played seven holes. The incomplete nature of the round means the leaderboard remains provisional and the cut line is yet to be determined.

A Week of Weather Disruption

The suspension on Friday follows a difficult opening day. Thursday’s play was halted for five hours because of heavy rain and thunderstorms, which pushed the schedule back and left the tournament playing catch-up. The second round will resume at 02:45 BST on Saturday, with the final second-round scores still to be decided.
