Apple TV 4K Refresh Tipped for A19 Chip as October 30 Launch Nears
Apple TV 4K A19 chip — Apple’s upcoming Apple TV 4K is reported to move to a standard A19 chip, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who detailed the claim in his Power On newsletter. The reported silicon shift would replace the A15 chip used in the current 2022 model, giving the streaming box a newer processor generation.
What the A19 report says

Gurman’s newsletter describes the chip as a standard A19, not a variant designed specifically for the Apple TV. That distinction matters for how the device’s performance is likely to be framed, though the report does not address clock speeds, graphics cores or other technical specifics.
The current Apple TV 4K has relied on the A15 since 2022. Moving to the A19 would mark the first chip generation change for the product line in that span.
Siri Remote testing points to a speaker
Apple has tested a refreshed Siri Remote that includes a speaker, according to Gurman. The feature could make it easier to locate the remote when it slips between couch cushions, a common frustration for living-room accessories.
Whether that redesigned Siri Remote would actually ship with the new Apple TV 4K remains unconfirmed. Gurman noted that the inclusion of the tested features is not yet established.
Built-in microphones for remote-free Siri
Separately, Apple has tested built-in microphones for the Apple TV 4K, per the same report. If such microphones were included, they would allow Siri queries to be made directly through the Apple TV box, without needing the remote or a HomePod.
Like the speaker-equipped remote, the built-in microphone testing does not guarantee a shipping feature. Gurman’s report stops short of confirming either would make it into the final product.
Launch timing and the expected event
The new Apple TV 4K is expected to arrive in stores on October 30. A new HomePod mini is also slated for the same in-store date, suggesting Apple may position the two products as part of a coordinated home-focused push.
Apple is expected to unveil both devices at a Tuesday event, reportedly called “Welcome home.” The event timing aligns with the October 30 retail availability, though the report does not detail pricing or full specifications.
What remains unconfirmed
Several key questions are still open. It is not known whether the new Siri Remote with a speaker will be bundled with the Apple TV 4K or sold separately. Nor is it confirmed whether built-in microphones will appear in the shipping product.
Beyond the October 30 in-store date, availability details, pricing and additional specifications have not been disclosed. The reported A19 chip, the speaker-equipped remote and the built-in microphones all originate from Gurman’s Power On newsletter, and each remains subject to Apple’s final product decisions.
