Sooryavanshi’s Instagram Teaser Fuels Talk of Samson Swap for Hyderabad T20I

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Sanju Samson 4th T20I talk has taken over Indian cricket’s chatter after the teenager posted a cryptic Instagram teaser on October 12. The post, which included the text “Stay Tuned” along with tornado and timing emojis, was quickly interpreted by Sports Yaari as a hint that Sooryavanshi could be in line for a recall to India’s XI for the fourth T20I against West Indies in Hyderabad on October 14.

What Sooryavanshi Posted and Why It Matters

The Instagram post featured four or five photos and used music associated with Sidhu Paaji. Sports Yaari noted that a similar post from Sooryavanshi had previously preceded a match the following day, adding weight to the speculation. The tweet from Sports Yaari on October 12 pointed out the “Stay Tuned” text, the emojis, and the music choice, drawing a link between the social media activity and a possible selection call.

Sooryavanshi, who is 15 years old and part of the squad, has been left out of the playing XI in Lucknow and Ranchi. His only T20I appearance came in July against England at Old Trafford, where he scored 14 off 10 balls, including two sixes, and shared a 50-run opening stand with Abhishek Sharma inside the first five overs.

Samson's Series So Far

Sanju Samson has held the opening slot through the series but has produced an inconsistent run. He made 11 off 9 balls in Lucknow, followed by a standout 82 off 41 in Ranchi, which was India’s top score in that match. However, India lost the Ranchi T20I despite posting 249/5, as West Indies chased down 252/4. In Indore, Samson was dismissed for 3 by Shamar Joseph, though India still won by 14 runs after making 223 and restricting West Indies to 209/7.

Abhishek Sharma’s 69 off 30 in Indore underlined his own case at the top, but the question of his opening partner remains open. Samson’s 82 in Ranchi remains the only notable score of his series, making him the obvious name to make way if the team management opts for a change.

Selection Process and Rotation Plans

The XI is decided by head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shreyas Iyer. Before the series, bowling coach Morne Morkel said Gambhir would rotate players. India kept an unchanged side for the second T20I, and in Lucknow, Samson and Abhishek were preferred over Sooryavanshi for balance.

With India leading the five-match series 2-1, the Hyderabad match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, starting at 7:00 pm IST, offers room to experiment. The fifth T20I in Bengaluru on October 17 could become a dead rubber if India seals the series.

Speculation Until the Toss

Whether Sooryavanshi actually replaces Samson remains unknown. The final playing XI has not been confirmed, and the Instagram post has not been established as a selection hint. The team management may yet make no change at all, and Samson could be dropped or rested. Until the toss, the teaser is only a hint.
