Verizon Puts a $10 Monthly Price on iPhone Handoff, Twice T-Mobile’s Rate
Verizon has set its Verizon iPhone Handoff fee at $10 per month, exactly double the $5 monthly rate T-Mobile announced earlier for the same number-sharing feature. The pricing was reported on October 17, 2026, one day after Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo opened for preorders.
What Handoff Actually Does

Handoff lets two compatible iPhones operate on a single phone number. The most obvious scenario pairs the pocketable Duo, which has a 5.4-inch outer screen, with an iPhone 18 Pro kept for work. Verizon says the active device can be switched at any time, and that full 5G network access carries over during the swap.
The feature requires iOS 27, and Verizon lists only the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro as compatible. Because iPhones sold in the United States are eSIM only, there is no physical SIM to move between handsets — which is precisely the gap Handoff is meant to fill.
Duo Timing and the Consumer Deal
Preorders for the Duo began October 16, with the release scheduled for Friday, October 23. Verizon’s switcher offer prices the device at $72 per month over 48 months with the Simplicity plan: $42 for the 256GB handset and $30 for service, at 0% APR.
Enrolling in Verizon Loyalty waives activation and upgrade fees, stated as up to $40 per device. New customers who add a qualifying line can receive an Apple Watch Series 12 or an iPad through credits of up to $600. Three months of Apple One are included, after which the bundle runs $17 per month.
iPhone 18 Pro Terms and Trade-Ins
On Simplicity Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro offer requires no trade-in and spreads $1,200 in bill credits across a 36-month plan. Buyers can upgrade annually after paying off 33% of the device and returning it in good condition.
MyPlan customers can get up to $1,000 off by adding a line and trading in an eligible device. One example in the brief is the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which carries a $300 discount on Amazon.
Business customers face different math: up to $1,200 off the Duo with a trade-in, plus a $20 monthly fee.
The Fine Print Worth Reading
All credits are distributed evenly over 36 months. Leaving early forfeits whatever remains.
One question Verizon has not answered: whether the second iPhone needs anything beyond the $10 monthly fee — an additional plan, for instance, or another charge. For anyone planning to run a Duo and an iPhone 18 Pro on one number, that gap is worth clarifying before signing up.
